Manchouli City lies in the hinterland of Hulun Buir Prairie of Inner Mongolia, to the east the Great Khingan, to the south Hulun Lake, to the west Mongolia, and to the north Russia. With an area of 730 square kilometers, it is the largest land- way port along the border in China. The climate there is temperate, semi-arid, and continental. The overall population of Manchouli is 260,000, consisting of more than 20 nationalities including Mongolian, Han, Hui, Korean, Ewenki, Oroqen, Russia, and so on. Owing to its combination of three exotic flavors from China, Russia, and Mongolia, the port city has been honored with the reputation of “Window of Eastern Asia”
